Libraries are a great resource for people living with dementia. We work closely with libraries across the UK to make our resources accessible to local communities through dementia-friendly social inclusion.
Libraries Week is the annual showcase of the best that UK libraries of all kinds have to offer, with a focus in 2021 on celebrating the role of libraries in supporting active and engaged communities.
This Libraries Week, we want to shout about the libraries across the UK who have signed up as Playlist for Life Help Points – sharing our materials to support those living with dementia in their community.
Over 500 UK libraries are now signed up as Playlist for Life Help Points, contributing in large part to our network of 1500 Help Points across the UK.
Playlist for Life provides a real opportunity for libraries to use their unique position to support better inclusion and wellbeing in local communities. Despite the pandemic presenting complex barriers, staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly to maintain a positive impact in their area, and I’m delighted that libraries have played an essential role in this.”

"As todays libraries are an inclusive part of local communities, we try to reflect and support anything which may be of benefit to our customers. Playlist for Life leaflets are displayed within each of our community libraries, along with a free directory. Some of our most vulnerable customers and carers, those we deliver direct to with our free Home Library Service, have benefited from these resources."
