Playlist for Life app

The Playlist For Life App is designed to make the experience of searching for music and creating a playlist as simple as possible.

It will guide you to music that holds memories for you and it works with an online music service to allow you to hear music immediately.

Once you have identified your special music the app allows you to associate each song with memories, moods or activities so you can build different playlists for different occasions.

Then when you want to hear one of your playlists the app will act as a music player and play the songs you have chosen whenever and wherever you want.

The new app for general use builds upon a research prototype developed as part of a major collaboration between Playlist for Life, Glasgow Caledonian University and Nesta (the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts) to launch Nesta's prestigious Dementia Citizens platform. The research prototype was made possible by the generosity of the Edinburgh and Lothians Health Foundation and the Gordon and Ena Baxter Foundation, after an initial grant from Alzheimer Scotland.

The Playlist For Life app will be launching this summer thanks to support from The Utley Foundation and will be available initially on iPhones, iPads and the iPod Touch. Please check back here for more details.
