Douglas McIntyre

Before retiring in 2023, Douglas held senior executive positions with a range of financial services and wealth management firms. A love for numbers and for helping people led him to spend over 30 years directing the provision of financial advice to many individuals, trusts and corporate clients.

He relishes joining a superbly capable team at Playlist for Life to help the charity deliver personally meaningful music to people impacted by dementia as effectively as possible.

Prior to his career in financial services, Douglas spent 10 years in the Merchant Navy as a Navigating Officer.

Douglas' playlist

Gladys Knight & the Pips – You’re The Best Thing That’s Ever Happened To Me.

My dear wife Susan and I first heard this song together not long after our first meeting over 40 years ago.

ABBA – Thank You For The Music

Reminds me of my lovely mum and dad. Our
whole family love ABBA and I could easily pick all ABBA tunes!

Candi Staton – Young Hearts Run Free

Great memories from teenage years – often hanging around the tennis club with pals, especially during the hot summer of 1976.

G.R.L. – Ugly Heart

This song invariably generates a reminder of dancing with
my four children, nieces, nephews and in-laws, at our big family parties.

Joe 90 (TV show theme tune)

Always triggers thoughts of happy childhood days, growing up with my sister and two brothers.
